100% Natural Korean Vocabulary 1-1 : Snacks and beverages
Snacks and beverages
Day 1 : Snacks
It’s really hard to describe a living creature’s life without eating right? If we don’t eat, we die. So, I think it’s super essential to learn. lol. And I’m 100% sure almost people who didn’t die yet enjoy eating very much. That means you will have so many chances to say or remind the words or phrases what you will learn from now on in your life. Yep, ESSENTIAL. And I love eating of course. Oh btw, you will find any interesting differences between Korean and your language in this chapter. It can be fun even though studying is awfully boring. If it’s too boring, focus on that.
과자 means snacks but not candies or nuts, only something like chips, cheetos, cookies.
(I) want to eat snack
Normally 사탕 means lollipop, not chewy candies or candy bars. chewy candies are ‘젤리(jelly)’ to Koreans. it seems very unusual and odd to you but yeah, they are jelly to Korean.
(I) Should suck (this) candy until my teeth melt

any popsicle and ice cream are ice cream to Korean (even it’s not cream). pronunciation is almost same to ‘ice cream’.

콩 means ‘bean’ or ‘nut’. ‘땅’ means ‘ground, earth, land’, nuts are 견과류 but it’s a formal word. Koreans don’t say it often. they prefer to say ‘something like peanuts’ in casual conversations to means nuts.
(this) peanut is tasty this sentence can mean particular peanuts or peanuts in general

다 is a basic conjugation. it’ll be replaced with another conjugation to make a different meaning. so if you want to say ‘I’m eating’ then 다 changes to ‘고 있어요’. you will learn about them one by one with me. 🙂
there is no expression like ‘have something’ in Korean. only 먹다(eat). ‘have’ in Korean only means ‘possession’
